Welcome
Trinity Center is home to Camp Trinity, a residential Episcopal summer camp that allows campers to share in a Christian program that helps them grow spiritually and emotionally while giving them opportunities to develop new interests, skills, and friendships. It is also home to The Sound to Sea Environmental Education Program, the only residential environmental education program on the Outer Banks, which offers school groups a multi-disciplinary hands-on learning experience. Sound to Sea also offers adult environmental education and team building classes.
Whether you are coming to our camp, environmental program, retreat house or conference center, our experienced and professional staff is waiting to help you plan and implement your experience.
Trinity Center welcomes guests of all ages and backgrounds to experience God’s creation through work, study, and play on the North Carolina coast.
Camp Trinity
Camp Trinity is a summer program sponsored by the Episcopal Diocese of East Carolina to serve the 74 parishes of the diocese. Camp Trinity is proud to be accredited by the American Camping Association. Developed exclusively for the camp industry, this nationally recognized association focuses on program quality and health and safety issues, and requires the camp to regularly submit every facet of its operation to an independent appraisal by camp experts.
Camp Trinity offers young people (grades 2-12) an opportunity to experience camping in an enjoyable and beautiful setting along Bogue Sound and the Atlantic Ocean. Campers share in a Christian program that helps them grow spiritually and emotionally and provides them opportunities to develop new interests, skills, and friendships
The camping program is administered by an experienced staff, with a ratio of one staff person to every four campers. The summer staff consists of trained counselors who are responsible for the care and nurturing of campers in their cabin life and camp activities; program staff who plan and implement the recreational program activities for campers; a certified staff of lifeguards and instructors who oversee the swimming and boating programs; and a nurse who cares for the medical needs of the campers.
For further information about the program, please call the Camp Registrar at Trinity Center at (252) 247-5600 or by e-mail [email protected].
Summer Sound to Sea
At Summer Sound to Sea day camp youth will explore the habitats on Trinity Center’s 58-acre property. They use dip nets in the sound and pond to find out more about the biology of the various creatures that creep, swim and crawl on a barrier island. The campers then have the opportunity for a closer look, as we keep some of the marine organisms found in the sound in our on-site aquariums. The campers also have the chance to explore the maritime forest and learn about the animals that live among the cedars, live oaks and pines. In the afternoon, campers use items they have collected on the trails to create all kinds of art and music. And lastly, no beach camp would be complete without some time on the sand. So each camp day finishes with water time either on the beach or at the pool, to rest and think about the day’s activities.
